The core of Jujutsu Kaisen is Yuji Itadori who is good, selfless, and tough as nails, his battle with the evil of Sukuna makes him constantly interesting. Megumi Fushiguro, stoic summoner, and Nobara Kugisaki, fiery nail-and-hammer wielder make up a trinity that smells purely of chemistry. The boastful, overwhelming teacher Satoru Gojo takes a scene with his charisma and power. Antagonists such as Sukuna and Mahito are chilling because they take the stakes so much higher through their cruelty. There is also the supporting cast, with the grit of Maki Zen in and the humor of Panda (yes, a panda). The sorcerers are motivated by duty, and Gojo is mentoring, and Megumi is determined, and the curses are motivated by dark emotions of humanity. Akutami makes these into a story as thought provoking as it is thrilling and leaves you wondering what you would sacrifice in order to help others. It is a shonen which does not only entertain but makes you feel the burden of each battle.
